Our Lawn Care Program Is Changing

Change is never easy. This is one we think you and your lawn will love.

For 2017, we are very pleased and excited to introduce a product call Holganix into our lawn care programs. Holganix functions as a plant probiotic, replenishing living, beneficial microorganisms and food sources to fortify the soil food web and balance the soil ecosystem. It is an organic method that will improve the quality of our customer’s soils and lawns

Why Our Lawn Care Program Is Changing

There are several reasons why we are changing our lawn care program. All of them went into our consideration and all of them are important.

Montgomery County’s Pesticide Ban

The Montgomery County Council recently passed a bill banning all cosmetic pesticides effective January 1, 2018. The Council has not yet announced specifically which pesticides will be banned, but we know that our customer’s lawns and landscapes will be affected. It became clear to us that we needed to be proactive and find ways to care for our customers properties without pesticides.

We Care About You And The Environment

We know our customers are concerned about the safety of pesticides. So are we. Allentuck Landscaping Co. has always used pesticides with great care, chosen the safest pesticides available, and applied them with excellent safety practices. When all of these are combined, pesticides can be a safe and effective way of controlling pests.

Although Holganix will not entirely eliminate our need to use pesticides, it will allow us to vastly reduce it.

Holganix will also allow us to reduce the quantity of fertilizer we apply to your lawns without giving up its benefits. This is very important for the health of local streams, rivers and the Chesapeake Bay. Excess fertilizers have been a key factor in the pollution of these important waterways.

Sustainability Matters

At Allentuck Landscaping Co, we are always looking for ways to be more sustainable. Holganix certainly allows us to reduce our footprint on the environment. Whether it is recycling green waste (to the tune of 5,400 cu. yds. each year) or using GPS systems to create efficient crew routes, we always want to lead other lawn and landscape companies when it comes to being more sustainable. After all, it is the Green Industry!

What Does The Change In Our Turf Care Program Mean To You

At the end of the day, we know that results matter. We believe strongly that we are making this change for all of the right reasons. We are also very confident that our customers will see improvement in the quality of their lawns.

Greener, lusher and safer lawns are what we are all after. If we can achieve that and protect the environment, it is a win, win, win.
